Coffee

I have to say, despite my best efforts Starbuck's has really grown on me. As much as I romanticize a double double the coffee at Timmies has gone way downhill. Maybe it was living in New York, maybe not. They only opened the first Timmies in Manhattan a couple of weeks before we moved back home. We went to the one on 92nd (?) to see how similar it was, and it was ball sweat. I really enjoy a 1/2 sweet soy chai latte, extra shot, no whip.

Augustine Cove

'Couche Tard' is on the front of a chain of gas stations that have a convenience store throughout the east coast ( known to us Anglo's as "Mac's"). The first time I laid eyes on this was on the road trip that my husband, our 18 month old son and I took from Peterborough to Augustine Cove, PEI in the summer of 2006. We got married on on a red-sand cliff over looking the Northumberland Strait that week. We had a very humble but incredibly special day, with Elijah our son on my hip as he just couldn't stand by and watch Jake and my hands bound with a fasting cloth. No matter how many times the Officiant kept re-sashing it he kept unraveling it and we kept giggling at his perserverance. He wasn't fussy or angry or loud, just persistant. A character trait I assure you reveals itself often:)

That summer, that trip, that experience was a tremendous shift in my life. It changed many things in many ways, some more significant than others.

Writing anything and presenting to others to read terrifies the shit out of me. Typing that it terrifies me, terrifies me. So here's to another shift in the direction of growth and completeness. Cheers.
